Cookie Policy
Which cookies and browser storage data Liketeacher uses.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. The browser's local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) works in a similar way. The controller of the data collected in this way is IMETROLL – Laboratory of Technology sp. z o.o.
We use cookies only so that the website works properly, and accepting them is necessary for the website to function properly. Liketeacher uses only files that are strictly necessary for the Service to work – we do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies (Article 399 of the Polish Electronic Communications Law Act of 12 July 2024).
2. Files we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|---|
LTSESS | session cookie, first-party (HttpOnly, Secure) | session – account login, form security, payments | until the browser is closed or you log out |
lt_lang | first-party cookie | remembering the selected language version (set only after it is selected) | until changed or deleted |
lt_app | first-party cookie | recognising that the Service runs inside the Liketeacher mobile app (app only) | until deleted |
lt_gate | first-party cookie (HttpOnly, Secure) | access to the test version of the Service (team gate) – not used for regular users | 30 days or until logout |
lt_acct, lt_buyer, lt_uni, theme | localStorage, first-party | remembering settings: account type, “Private / Company” choice, light/dark appearance | until browser data is cleared |
lt-push, lt-push-sync, lt-push-auto | localStorage / sessionStorage, first-party | push notification settings (only after you enable them) | until browser data is cleared |
in-app messages, lt_loader_seen, lt_mod | localStorage / sessionStorage, first-party | frequency limit for in-Service messages, skipping the loading screen on further pages | localStorage – until cleared; sessionStorage – until the tab is closed |
lt_cc | localStorage, first-party | remembering your choice in the cookie banner (date and policy version) | number of days set for the banner (default 180), then we ask again |
lt_mascot, lt_mascot_seen | localStorage, first-party | state of the “Hoot” assistant window and tips already shown | until browser data is cleared |
ltn_v1 | localStorage, first-party | frequency limit for in-Service notifications (which ones you have already seen) | until browser data is cleared |
adsm_* (e.g. adsm_cards_off_*, adsm_cards_rot, adsm_d_*, adsm_s_*, adsm_lock) | sessionStorage / localStorage, first-party (Ad Manager recommended-content script, account panel only) | frequency limit and rotation of our own recommended content; the data is not sent anywhere. Not strictly necessary – used only after you click “Accept” | sessionStorage – until the tab is closed; localStorage – up to 30 days or until cleared |
3. External resources
- Map – map tiles (data © OpenStreetMap) are served by our own server and do not set cookies.
- Google sign-in – after clicking “Sign in with Google” you go to a Google page, which may set its own cookies under Google's policy.
- Payment operator (Stripe) – the payment operator's cookies may apply on the payment page.
- Push notifications are delivered by your browser's or system's notification service (e.g. Google, Apple, Mozilla).
5. Recommended content in the account panel
After you log in, the account panel (accounts without a paid plan) may show our own recommended content (e.g. about other services of the operator), delivered by our Ad Manager system (marketing.imetroll.com). The script does not set cookies, does not load third-party scripts or pixels and does not build a user profile; the server only counts aggregate daily impressions and clicks (no user identifier) and uses a hash of a truncated IP address to prevent abuse. To limit frequency, the script stores adsm_* keys in your browser – only if you click “Accept”. If you choose “Necessary only”, recommended content is not loaded.
6. How to manage cookies and change your choice
You can delete or block cookies and localStorage data in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary files may prevent you from logging in and using your account. You can change your banner choice at any time: Cookie settings.
